KARNALI
(The Western Bend River)
Nepal’s
largest and longest river Karnali origins from Mount
Kailas in Tibet, the center of the universe for both
Buddhist and Hindus providing arguably the finest multi
day river trip, and a classic river adventure. In
isolated far western region of the country, this river
flows through magnificent gorges and forest. Trekking
onward to start the rafting, we reach to the land of
nomads traditionally know as Raute, which is deserted
beaches and small villages. During the whole rafting
trip we won't see a single sign of the modern world the
only places in Nepal to have a real chance of seeing
Nepal's wildlife. Langur and Rhesus monkeys, leopards,
bear, martins, deer, crocodiles and Garials; even tigers
along with giant Catfish and Golden Masheer will be your
dearest companions.
Whitewater ranges from easy going class three, to bone
crushing class five, depending on the time of year.
Regardless of the month, the Karnali always offers good,
powerful rapids with miles of beautiful scenery,
pristine beaches and deep river gorges.
